In addition to Jon acting as Lead Coach on "courses organised by other organisations", we also run some group cricket courses of our own.

These "JGCC courses" run throughout the year for junior cricketers of all ages and experience levels….

We take pride in the quality of our own group coaching courses. Here's why......

  • All of our "JGCC" courses are run by at least two E.C.B. qualified cricket coaches (including Jon). We insist that all coaches are members of the ECB Coaches Association - which means that they then have public liability insurance for their coaching.
  • We use a "participant to staff ratio" which is never more than 10 participants to each member of staff. Whilst this is obviously not the most profitable way to work, we prefer small groups because the standard of coaching then reaches "where we want it to be"
  • All equipment is provided on our courses - so you don't need to buy or bring your own, and there are no equipment hire fees for participants to use our equipment. (Parents tell us that this compares favourably to some other sports where the "add on costs" can often outweigh the cost of the session itself)
  • All the equipment we use (and provide for you to use) is TOP quality. So, if you'd like to use a top of the range cricket bat to see if it makes a difference to your batting then book to attend one of our hardball cricket courses & you'll be able to find out!
  • A full wet weather plan in made for every session - so "rain doesn't stop play" so far as we are concerned!
  • We offer a variety of courses - everything from 1/2 day courses up to 3 day summer schools. As each course is planned you will find details of it listed on our "Courses Calendar" website page.

Examples of JGCC courses which have run in the past are:

KWIK CRICKET SUMMER SCHOOL

·         Three whole days of action packed fun, for boys & girls in School years 4,5 & 6...........suitable for those who have played cricket and for beginners who've never played before.

·         A whole host of skills coaching on batting, bowling & fielding is mixed in with Kwik Cricket competitions, mini matches & fun games to take part in....and if that's not enough, there are also occasional spot prizes thrown in for a bit of added excitement!

·         Please book early to avoid disappointment, (We say that because our 2006 & 2007 Kwik Cricket Summer Schools were fully booked weeks before they took place.)

INTRODUCTION TO HARDBALL CRICKET COURSE

·         For those who have tried & enjoyed Kwik Cricket, this course starts them playing the traditional hardball version of the game.

·         This course is for those who have never played hardball cricket AND for those who have started to play the game who have limited experience and / or confidence.

·         Three simple objectives exist for this course - to build players skills, to increase their confidence, and to make sure that they have some fun in the process.

·         This course includes technical coaching on batting, bowling & fielding - with us making sure that the basics are covered properly so that you develop "good habits" which you can then build on in the future.

·        We also go " right back to basics" and cover lots of things that many new players wonder about hardball cricket - such as.........how to do up your batting pads & make sure they're on the right legs, what size bat is the right size bat, and how to stop your helmet wobbling about on your head! We make sure you know the right answers to these & lots of other things, so you can safely play and enjoy the game.

HARDBALL CRICKET COURSE

·         This programme is for those who HAVE played hardball cricket before - at a School and / or Cricket Club.

·         Skill development combined with enjoyment is the main objective - with coaching provided on batting, bowling and fielding

·         The technical coaching on this course is adjusted to the actual skill levels of those who attend, and our small group sizes enables us to give personal advice to every player to help them improve their skills.

We've also run specialist courses for wicket keepers, for batters, and for bowlers.

So - if you want to find out more about our "JGCC courses" then please make contact with us, or take a look at the "Courses Calendar" page of our website to find out what we've got planned.

......and if you're unsure which course would be the best one to attend - then please contact us - we'll be happy to help!
