& Julie Gibson….

Jon Gibson Cricket Coaching is a business partnership founded by Jon Gibson and
his wife Julie.
Jon plans and undertakes all the cricket coaching and technical
activities, whilst Julie runs the admin / support side of the business.
Our
combined experience of 35 years in retail management underpins our drive to provide quality coaching and products, excellent
customer service and real value in all aspects of our business.
Jon’s coaching philosophy….
Jon’s
coaching philosophy is to help those he coaches to have fun and be proud of their own cricketing achievements – at every
level: from learning to catch a ball, through to performing in cricket matches for their school, cricket club, district, county,
region, or even for their country!
His business motto is simple……………….Have
fun. Play cricket.

Jon
is a full time cricket coach who has England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) level 1, 2 & 3 coaching qualifications,
a British Red Cross "Basic First Aid for Appointed Persons" qualification, and 12 years cricket coaching
experience.
In addition to the above, Jon has also attended the following continuous professional development /
courses: - Safeguarding & Protecting Children

In addition to his professional qualifications
he has: - Enhanced level Criminal Records Bureau approval to work with children, young
people and vulnerable adults.
- Public
Liability insurance for his cricket coaching.
- Extensive experience of coaching middle & senior managers in business –
and can use these skills to help players develop the mental side of their sport.
- Attended
conferences on Long Term Athlete Development & uses these principles within his sessions.
- Attended
a coach development session on wrist spin development with Terry Jenner. (Shane Warne’s personal coach)
- Worked as an ECB Coach Education Tutor, Assessor and Verifier, (delivering
UKCC1 & UKCC2 Courses) and he has also acted as the ECB's Field Based Trainer for Coach Education in Cumbria, which
involved him in needing to observe, assess & then where appropriate accredit new Coach Education Tutors & Assessors.
- Obtained the
D32 and D33 Assessor, Verifier and Advisor qualification, and the D34 Internal Verifier qualification through Pitman
Qualifications.
Jon is a member of: - The E.C.B. Coaches Association.
- The Cumbria Cricket Board Coaches Association.
- Cockermouth Cricket Club.
In addition to his professional coaching, Jon has also undertaken a very substantial amount of voluntary work
within cricket over the last 12 years, and on a voluntary basis he is the lead coach for the Under 13 squad at Cockermouth Cricket Club.
Julie’s background…. Whilst neither a cricket coach or player, Julie has also been actively involved in cricket,
and with sports coaching, for many years. Over that time she has attended the following training: - NSPCC “Time to Listen” (child
welfare) course
- Sports Coach UK “Safeguarding & Protecting Children” course
- ECB County Welfare Officers training course.
- Red Cross “First Aid for Sports”
course.
- NSPCC Tutor training for The “Time to Listen” Child Welfare Officers
course.
- Sports Coach UK Tutor training for their Good Practice & Child Protection (GP&CP)
course, for their "Safeguarding & Protecting Children" (SPC) workshop, and also for their "SPC2"
workshop.
Her career experience
includes Personnel, Training and Retail Management. She also holds professional qualifications as a Tutor, gained through
The Guardian Business School. Julie's experience of cricket includes having been a Cricket Club Secretary and she
was also a Member of 2 separate Cricket League Management Committees in Hampshire until we moved to Cumbria in 2001. Within
Cumbria many people will also know Julie having come across her in her role as a Child Welfare & Safeguarding Tutor, where
she was accredited to deliver the following workshops: The NSPCC “Time to
Listen” course for Cricket Club & Cricket League Child Welfare Officers. The
ECB's Cricket specific version of the Sports Coach UK “Safeguarding & Protecting Children" (SPC)
course for Child Welfare Officers and Coaches at Cricket Clubs. Sports Coach UK (SCUK) "multi sport version" of the SPC course for Sports Coaches
& Child Welfare Officers. SCUK's Good Practice & Child Protection Course
SCUK's Safeguarding & Protecting
Children "2" (for those who have already attended the basic SPC course)
